Mid Wales Alliance - Sunday 29th May
The Alliance couldn’t have had a more stunning day to visit Cradoc, 172 golfers from across Mid Wales converged at the club to play golf in the most perfect conditions. The sun was bright in the sky all day and that coupled with the back drop of the Brecon Beacons it was still an enjoyable day even if the golf was not up to scratch. A special mention was made in the speeches for the hard work of the greens staff for the way the course was presented, it was in great condition and a fair but firm test of golf. With the playing conditions benign and the course looking fantastic it was no surprise to see low scores on the leaderboard.
Having held the lead for most of the day, Cradoc's Derek Osborne and James Davenport, who were in the second group out in the morning were dropped into second place by ex member Gareth Davies and C Lloyd who had a better count back on the last nine holes, both teams on a very respectful 42 points.
With three points between the top eight a lot of officiating was needed to separate the teams into their final places, a big thanks goes out to the organiser and officials for making the competition run smoothly.
Well played everyone, we hope you enjoyed your day at Cradoc and it’s good to see the mix of golf clubs represented on the leaderboard and great to see the numbers increasing in the Alliance meetings across the region.
