Men's Captain's Away Day at Glynhir

Pete Gethin goes low to win in Glynhir

Men's Captain's Away Day

The Men's Away day was held at Glynhir Golf Club on Friday 29th July. Captain Dave Matthews took 35 golfers down and even though they had a few heavy showers during the day they all had a throughly enjoyable day.

Pete Gethin took the spoils with an excellent round, shooting 7 below his handicap and narrowly edging Simon Williams by one shot with Tom Price coming in close behind a further shot back.

Tony Evans claimed bragging rights over his son Rob by claiming 4th by a shot but Rob blasted everyone away in the long drive competition; in the nearest the pin competition John James was unlucky but lucky with his shot as it was within 2 inches of going in for a hole in 1, had it gone in it would have been an expensive day as he would have had to buy everyone a drink!

We hope everyone enjoyed their day and don’t forget this Sunday is Captain's Day so put your name down on the board in the foyer and come and share in the festivities of the day.

2nd Simon P Williams - 42 points

3rd Tom Price - 41 points

5th Rob Evans 36 points

Nearest the pin - John James
