It looked like Captains Day was going to be a wash out with the forecast for rain for the majority of the day but Phil must have been praying all week as it turned out to be mostly dry with the occasional heavy shower. The course has stood up well to all the recent rain and although it was playing long there was a lot of good reports as to how the course was set up and how the greens putted. Phil greeted all the players off the course with refreshments and a BBQ at the back of the 18th green and once everyone had finished on the course they all retired back to the warmth of the clubhouse to do the presentation.
In his speech Phil thanked all the golfers for playing and also for everyones help in setting up the course and those that helped him make the day a success from the greenstaff, the proshop, caterers, bar staff and his family who helped him with the BBQ through the day. Scoring was very close for the places with 5 players all on 37 points and the computer had to sort out the scores on the back nine but it was Nick who blitzed the field with a great round of 42 points, 6 under his handicap and reducing his handicap in the process.
