Welcome to Cradoc Golf Club

Australian Spoons

April 25, 2016

The ladies would have appreciated the weather from Australia whilst playing the Australian Spoons competition but instead it was overcast with quite a strong northerly wind which made it considerably colder than it looked. The competition is a pairs and also a foursomes competition, meaning playing alternately with your partner, a tough format as you only get half a game and it is difficult to keep a rhythm going.

The Australian spoons is a Golf Union of Wales Foursomes competition with the winners from Cradoc going on to the South Area Final at Creigiau GC on 4th July. The Welsh Final will be held at Cradoc in October. Today's winners picked up the title by having a better back nine than second place, congratulations Bev and Sarah and good luck in the next round.

  • 1st - Bev Beck and Sarah Parker - 30 pts, on back 9 from
  • 2nd - Julie Thomas and Fiona Jones, 30 pts
  • 3rd - Sue Pryce and Kay Coldrick - 28 pts
