As a new member, you will be warmly welcomed to the Ladies’ section and invited to join in the Ladies’ competitions and other activities.

All ladies joining Cradoc Golf Club automatically become part of the Ladies’ section, there are around 60 lady members, of varying ages and golfing ability.

If you are joining from another club and/or already have a WHS handicap, you are welcome to play in the Ladies’ weekly competitions; The Ladies play their competitions on Thursdays and Saturdays, with the first tee being reserved for them at various times to allow for work and other commitments.

Ladies' Competitions

During the competition season, April to October, we have around 20 trophies and cups to play for, with an even split of medal & stableford formats.

We also have some fun, non qualifying competitions, such as 3 clubs and a putter and some team games. Booking for these can be made through the BRS online booking system.

Ladies are also encouraged to play in the Club’s Mixed Open in July, which is organised by the Ladies’ section.  Ladies also take part in various other mixed competitions, both within the club and against other clubs.

Summer

Over the summer period, the Ladies’ section also runs a series of knock out match play competitions, both individual and pairs.

We also have 2 Opens, a Texas Scramble in May, and an Am-Am in September. We also run a Mixed Open competition during the summer. All are well supported by the Cradoc Ladies, but we also welcome a good number of visitors from other clubs.

Winter

In the winter period, the Ladies play 12-hole competitions; usually individual stablefords but combined with team golf on alternate Saturdays and some team games on the first Thursday of each month.

In winter, ladies wishing to play enter a draw for partners, which enables the ladies to play with different people and results in a friendly and sociable ladies’ section.

Matches & Away days

Friendly matches are also organised with the Ladies’ sections of other clubs, enabling us to visit and play at other courses.

Each year the Lady Captain also organises an Away Day to a local course.

Social Events

There are also various social events throughout the year to which all lady members are invited – a Spring Supper starts the season, which involves a meal and is an ideal time to meet other Cradoc ladies.

There are also a range of fund-raising events, the Ladies’ Captain’s Day and a Christmas party.

Cradoc Ladies’ Section is affiliated to the Mid Wales County Golf Association, which holds competitions at courses all through Mid Wales, with a mix of formats, from team competitions to the County Championship.

Professional Coaching

For those ladies joining Cradoc who are new to golf, there are many ladies who are willing to play with you in a non-competitive environment, in order to welcome you to the game and to provide some hints and tips on golfing etiquette.

The Teaching Professional provides various packages of lessons and for complete beginners, he runs a series of group lessons which have been highly successful as they give ladies the opportunity to learn and improve with someone else new to the game.

The Ladies’ section is run by a committee lead by the Ladies’ Captain, supported by the Secretary, Treasurer, the Immediate Past Ladies’ Captain and the Ladies’ Handicap Secretary, together with 5 general members.
