Welcome to the Ladies' section
A warm welcome to the ladies’ section.
This section was started in 1969, when the club was known as Penoyre, with Mrs A.E. Vaughan as the 1st Lady Captain, paving the way for women to follow.
We are friendly, inclusive and as much as we are competitive we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

Join the Ladies' Section
Joining the ladies’ section you will be joining ladies with a passion for golf that are always up for some fun.
The ladies’ section is made of women of different ages and different skill levels.
The more experienced ladies are always happy to go out and help beginners, or just ladies new to the course.
The ladies play on a Thursday and Saturday morning. Where they have many in – house competitions throughout the year.

The ladies’ run an open mixed competition annually. It is always held on the last Sunday of Jul. They also hold 2 other opens for woman each year.
During the year the ladies’ have charity/fun golf days; they are also very big on away days.
They have the attitude of “What happens on tour stays on tour”
“As much as we love to have fun with our golf, we have a teaching professional very accustomed to teaching ladies of any skill level”
Ladies' Competitions
The summer golfing competition season is April to October.
The ladies have around 20 trophies and cups to play for, with an even split of medal & stableford formats.
This you can join in with every Thursday and Saturday morning.
They also play in Wales Golf qualifying competitions. These include The Medals & Bowls and The Australian Spoons. Also, they play in the R&A Coronation Foursomes.

Some of the ladies qualify each year to play in the Mid Wales County Golf Association – Handicap League.
2025 saw the ladies take the win in Welshpool.
Throughout the year the ladies play in friendly but competitive matches, which sees them playing at home and away.
